Running 26 miles may seem like a major challenge but it is nothing compared to the challenges that the children Wishes 4 Kids help face every day.

After retiring from professional football I was looking for a children's charity to help. It was at that time that Wishes 4 Kids got in touch and asked me to help them make a wish come true for a very poorly child who wanted to meet with me. That day I met an incredible young lady named Louise. Louise showed me how brave she was and I am grateful for being so privileged to have known her and her family. I was not prepared for the effect that this would have on me but it is an experience that will stay with me always.

It was an honour when Wishes 4 Kids asked me to be a Patron and I have been actively involved ever since.
