Memory Walk
Campaign by Alzheimer's Society (RCN 296645)
This year over 110,000 people walk united, against dementia. We aim, with your help to raise over £9 million to help anyone affected by dementia.

Story

Around 225,000 people in the UK develop dementia every year – that's the equivalent of one person every three minutes. This September and October Memory Walks will be taking place across England, Wales and Northern Ireland to raise money for the Alzheimer's Society. Once you donate, Just Giving will send your money directly to the Alzheimer's Society. So it's the most efficient way to raise cash

My Mum, Muriel, who died last year had Alzheimer's, the picture is my Mum, Muriel Perks (née Dorothy Muriel Smith; 1920 to 2016) and her Mom, Phyllis Smith (née Gertrude Lilian Line; 1886 to 1962). Both had dementia, we presume Phyllis had Alzheimer's, not a usual diagnosis mid 20th century. This picture was taken in Scotland, circa 1930, when all that was a very long way off

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.
