We provide children's hospice care to children and families across Sussex

Story

Chestnut Tree House is a children’s charity providing hospice care and community support for children and young people with life-shortening conditions. There are hundreds of children and young people in your local community who are unlikely to reach adulthood. And even more parents and family members who need care, help and support on their journey, as they do not know how long they will have together.Your help enables families to spend time together. Precious moments that give a lifetime of memories.

Esmé has become aware of Chestnut Tree through her school (Ardingly College Prep) supporting it as their chosen charity over the last two years. Many planned events have had to be cancelled so Esmé has decided to do some fundraising herself. She has also been finding out more about it as part of a Brownie badge which has inspired her to action. She loves her maths and was shocked to find that only 9% of its funding comes from government, which means it needs to raise over £4m a year.

Her aim is to run every day during May. Most days it will be a triangular 2.3km circuit close to home. These runs will be recorded on Jonathan's Strava feed and I'll update progress here.

Thank you for any donation that you are able to make. Even £2.30 in recognition of her run distance will make a difference.
