Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. Our team page can be found here: https://www.justgiving.com/companyteams/NatalieChris18.

For the past two years I have completed the British 10k for the Dyspraxia Foundation. My Dad joined me last year and will be joining me again this year. I will also be taking part in the Hatfield House 10k on 14th October.

Last year I completed the 10k in a time of 1 hour 16 minutes (with a combination of walking and jogging) and raised £134 for the Dyspraxia Foundation. This year I'm aiming to beat that time and to raise even more money for the Dyspraxia Foundation!

As most of you probably know, I was diagnosed with dyspraxia at the age of three and was later diagnosed with mild cerebral palsy. Whilst there is a lot of overlap between both conditions, dyspraxia is what I would consider to be my main diagnosis.

Dyspraxia is a surprisingly common, hidden disability of which there is a lot of misunderstanding. It affects a variety of things, including: balance, coordination, fine & gross motor skills (it's safe to say my running style isn't 'typical'!), short term memory, concentration, and social skills. For more information about dyspraxia, take a look at my blog: https://theblogwithonepost.wordpress.com.

The Dyspraxia Foundation do so much to raise awareness of dyspraxia and support dyspraxic individuals. I have attended their summer conferences for the last two years, both of which have been fantastic events. Being surrounded by people who 'get it' at the events is so lovely!

The Dyspraxia Foundation are constantly raising awareness through their social media accounts and supporting parents and individuals through their helpline. Many of the team are volunteers. However, they can't do all of this without your support. It is their 30th anniversary this year and they are aiming to raise £1000 for each year. Please donate if you can - it would mean so much to me! As little or as much as you like, it all makes a difference!

Thank you!
