Story
As many of my family and friends are aware my wife Natalie has type 1 diabetes. Day to day life can be difficult for her at the best of times but she still manages to do everything she can for the family all whilst battling her own condition.
For 2019 I have decided to raise Money by taking on three separate challenges. Firstly I will be giving up alcohol completely for 6 months. This will then be followed by competing in the SF10 race.
The SF10 event is a 10 mile course over the Clwydian range, North Wales over hilly terrain, under military conditions and carrying a burgen weighing around 35lbs (2.5 stone) the event takes place at the start of June and will be a real test of physical and mental strength.
Diabetes is a disease that I don't think gets the awareness it deserves. Type 1 is never because of the way that person has lived their life, it is something you get and has no cure.
Please take some time to learn about Diabetes and see how you can help Diabetes UK develop new technology to help battle and hopefully one day find a cure!
