Andy and Nathan Reeks have always liked a challenge !
So, they decided they would challenge their minds as well as their bodies by cycling from one end of Britain to the other! Andy, at the tender age of 62, came up with the idea, and invited his son, Nathan, 35, to join him.The official distance is 874 miles, but their route will probably be just over 1000 miles as they want to avoid major roads.
This distance has influenced their target, to raise £8740 for their chosen charity, St David's Hospice Care. They have experienced first hand the amazing work that this charity does, and want to give something back as a thank you for help close family and friends have received.
St David's Hospice Care wouldn't be able to run without raising £7.9 million per year. They are looking after 1100 very sick people at any one time.
This massive cycle event, 874 plus miles, will take place in early July 2019. They expect to average 100 miles per day in the saddle!
To help raise their target they will be hosting a series of events through out the Winter and Spring 2019 (including a Quiz Night, Celebrity Curry Night and a Race Night).
