Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. I’m really excited to tell you that I have been selected to volunteer for two months in Kenya with VSO on an International Citizen Service placement.

I'll be working alongside entrepreneurs in their local communities helping them to start their businesses. With increased trade and business, their local economy grows, alleviating abject poverty.

The first part of my placement is a challenge to raise £800 towards the work of VSO and their ICS partners. The money raised will go towards enabling the overall costs of ICS, ensuring they can to continue sending youth volunteers to the developing world to make a lasting difference in disadvantaged communities.

Amongst other things, I’ll be climbing the Yorkshire 3 Peaks on 17th May with my dad (Shawn) and having a book & bake sale on the 13th May, and you can keep track of how I get on here on my Justgiving page. If you're around, please pop into my book & bake sale, it will be 11-4 at Edible Ornamentals just off the black cat roundabout in Bedfordshire, the postcode is MK443BL.

All funds raised will be donated straight to VSO for frontline work fighting extreme poverty. None of this fundraising is in any way associated with the personal costs of my volunteering trip.

For those interested, the personal cost of my volunteering is covered by ICS - a government run organisation that sends British volunteers abroad as part of it's foreign aid program.

Fundraising is a required stage of my volunteering experience, and I need YOUR help to achieve my goal.

Thank you so much for your support,

Nazarena
