Every year we see pregnant cats, mum and kittens come into our care. Our maternity wing can house over 200 cats and kittens during the height of kitten season (May - September).

We are trying to raise money to prepare for this year's kitten season. The kittens stay with us until they are at least 9 weeks old. In this time we feed, house, socialise, neuter, vaccinate, microchip, health check, flea & worm and medicate (if needed) the kittens and their Mum's.

Could you help us fund the huge task of running our maternity wing this year?

The kittens are now starting to wander around a bit more, and are venturing out of their birthing box, under the watchful eye of their mum, it is at about this stage that the team looking after them in the Maternity wing will be starting to introduce the idea of kitten food to them, and slowly weaning them from their mum, whilst monitoring closely to ensure they are all feeding effectively, and gaining some independence, at the 5-6 week point we will be removing the ladder to the top of the pen , so that mummy can start the weaning process too as she would in the wild, and giving her the opportunity to get away from the kittens for a period of time as they will not have the ability to follow her.
