Story

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.

This year will be the 5th anniversary of my Dad passing away. He always spoke so passionately about Tanzania, the country where he grew up. From our last trip together, we made many warm memories - watching glimmering orange sunsets over Maasai Mara, waking up to the beautiful sounds of call to prayer and exploring the stunning plains of the Serengeti. When I was a child, Dad would always point out Mount Kilimanjaro through the window of the airplane on the way to Tanzania.

To honour him and in his loving memory, this year I will be climbing Mount Kilimanjaro in August 2018, with the support of my friends Ksenia, Neil, Alena and Grace.

Accomplishing this challenge will mean so much to me, on a physical level but also emotional.

At a height of 5895m, it is the tallest free-standing mountain in the world and is no mean feat. With 8 days trekking to the summit, enduring altitude sickness and temperatures down to -20 degrees, this will not be your everyday challenge.

I will fully fund the cost of the expedition myself. Every penny will be donated to Kids Aid Tanzania, a fantastic non-profit organisation supporting local orphanages, schools and specific projects aimed at helping kids living on the street.

Please, please, please make a difference by pledging whatever you can!

Also, a big thank you to my friend, Nadeen, for being my inspiration!

Thank you for your support.
