Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

With your help I'd like to raise some cash for this wonderful lot the Charlie and Kathleen Dunnery Children's Fund. My wife Sue and I and many of our friends have been involved with the charity for a few years now since the founder Francis Dunnery helped us out with some money for one of our local children in Morecambe who has cerebral palsy, he needed some help funding an operation not available on the NHS and the CKDCF helped him out,  it's just an amazingly inspiring, generous and caring operation run completely by volunteers, nobody gets paid so your donation goes straight to where it's needed most and that's why we support them when we can.

So to the walk..... I had been planning this before the pandemic and should have had three months training under my belt by now. My new boots are barely used in preparation for July 2020. The three peaks is a tough 24 mile walk climbing and descending 5000 feet along the way and takes around 12 hours minimum for a young fit healthy person not an old fat lad like me, so because I haven't been able to train, I dare not risk the damage this could do to my already broken body by undertaking the challenge unprepared so I have decided to walk the peaks separately, I have walked them before but it's 50 years ago since I first went up Ingleborough, Whernside and Penyghent.  Please would you help me out by donating £2 for each peak or whatever you can,  I'll keep this page completely updated with photographs from the summits of each peak and hopefully by July 1st the amount will have been raised and will drive me on.

Thank you very much in advance of your support, it means a lot to me and will make a difference to the lives of children with life threatening illnesses and disabilities, believe me, the CKDCF makes a difference.
