I decided to do this ride because Covid 19 has made fund raising significantly more difficult for all charities including Mind in Mid Herts. (I have been associated with this tremendous charity for many years). 

In addition one of the outcomes of Covid 19 is a significantly increased need for the provision of mental health support to our communities and all money raised during this event will help Mind in Mid Herts continue supporting people with their mental health. 

I have not cycled actively for over 40 years, and this event has proved to be a challenging one for me! I have tried a range of methods of clocking up the miles - walking, swimming and cycling all of which are approved activities for this event.

Recently a number of neighbours have provided me with some great help providing me with access to Bike Trainers.  The Bike Trainers have been a godsend, helping to keep me on track and stopping me from wobbling off the bike!!
