Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am a very proud daddy to my 9 month old son, Ellis. On 24th December 2010 at just 6 weeks old he was rushed into Sheffield Children's Hospital suffering with Bronchilitus. It was the most scary and heart breaking time. We knew it was not life threatening but seeing my baby boy with drips and tubes knowing I could do nothing was the worst moment of our lives. The nursing staff were amazing. Nothing was too much trouble. They were fantastic. I will never be able to thank them enough for helping my little boy. And for trying to make his first christmas as special as possible.
Up until then I knew very little about the children's hospital let alone it's charity. But after talking to my partner, family and friends I decided to raise some funds to say thank you for all they did.
So about me... Well Im 31, over weight, under fit and still recovering from a Lisfranc fracture of my left foot. I can't run a bath let alone a 10k race! The last time I ran it was from my Year 11 English teacher when he caught me sneaking a crafty fag before my English Language GCSE. But a few weeks ago we were out shopping and on a whim I bought some running shoes. So when I got home I thought I'd better start running then. And actually I have really enjoyed it. But I needed a goal, something to aim for. Then Andrea reminded me that in a moment of madness after watching last years 10k race I had said "I'm going to do that next year" So that was it target set. I'm building myself up slowly but On the 9th October I will be running the Bupa Great Yorkshire Run in aid of Sheffield Children's Hospital.
I have set a target of £100. I know its a big ask but it would be amazing if I could reach this. Any sponsor however small will make the world of difference. And give me a massive motivation to get to that finish line. I wont be first, I may very well be last but I will get to the finish line.
