We fund long-term, sustainable research to find a cure for brain tumours

Story

In March 2017, Denise van Outen will lead a team on a 187-mile bike ride across Kerala in India to raise funds for the charity Brain Tumour Research.

Denise has launched the Nicki Waterman Kerala Challenge #NWKC2017 in memory of her close friend and fitness trainer to the stars, Nicki Waterman. Denise has joined forces with Nicki's daughter, Alex Thrussell, for this challenge.  Alex has been fundraising and campaigning since the tragic loss of her mother in August 2016.

Nicki, one of the UK's foremost fitness experts and The Sun columnist, was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive brain tumour in 2015.  Nicki died just 15 months after her diagnosis, leaving her family and friends heartbroken.

Denise and Alex will be joined by celebrities and two dedicated brain tumour campaigners who won the chance to join the exclusive group through a special competition in The Sun.

The team will be cycling up to 50 miles each day through the backwaters of southern India for the five-day challenge during Brain Tumour Awareness Month.  The ride has been designed by independent fundraising tour operator Charity Challenge.

Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer, yet just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to brain tumours.  Please join us in supporting Brain Tumour Research and help us get one step closer to finding a cure for this devastating disease.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure.  Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails.  Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity.  So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
