Story

Hey! Thank you so much for visiting my page I would be so grateful for your donation.

I am raising money for a very small charity that makes a big difference to the lives of newborns who have to go into special care soon after birth...“support for the sick newborns and their parents” (SSNAP) is a small charity that is so close to my heart, here’s why...

In January 2019 I was blue lighted to Oxford John Radcliffe hospital to deliver my baby boy Thomas 5weeks early as I was diagnosed with a serious form of pre-eclampsia.

Thomas was quite poorly and subsequently needed surgery at birth, he was admitted directly to neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) where he was superbly cared for by many nurses, consultants and surgeons over a series of weeks.

SSNAP provided much needed support to my husband and I at the most difficult time.

SSNAP is a wonderful charity which really does help save tiny lives.

I am lucky enough to receive a ballot place in this years London Marathon alongside my wonderful friend Emma. We ran one marathon as we all know it’s bloody hard work, I can’t overstate this is a massive challenge. Your donation will help spur me on when it really starts to hurt, thank you so much!!

In the UK, 1 in 10 babies need specialist care at birth. SSNAP supports sick & premature babies and their families in the Newborn Care Unit at the John Radcliffe Hospital. Imagine your newborn baby needing specialist care at birth. Instead of those very special days getting to know your baby as a family, you’re catapulted into an unfamiliar world of incubators, wires, medical tests and interventions. While your baby has specialist treatment, we provide emotional and practical support to help you through the trauma & upheaval. We’re there to help families cope, and provide state-of-the-art medical equipment and nursing expertise that could save babies lives.
