Story

Asalaam aleikum, my name is Nina and I humbly request your donations to build a solar-generated water pump in the drought hit villages of Tharparkar.

The people of Tharparkar in Sindh, Pakistan are faced with water scarcity due to the sporadic rainfall and extreme heat. The shortage of water places great health and financial burden on hundreds of families who rely on agriculture and farming as their main sources of income.

Women and girls often travel more than 3km each day to collect water, spending an average of 3-5 hrs fetching water from wells and hauling heavy pots of water home. It takes up to 8 women to pull the water out and at times the water is contaminated posing risk of infections. Not only is this chore an exhaustive labour, it restricts the lives of these women and girls leaving them with little time and energy for paid employment and educational pursuits.

Alhamdulillah (thank god) we are blessed with easy access to clean and safe water. And rarely do we have to think twice about our usage of water.

SOLUTION:

Help us build a solar powered water well system that will pump 10,000 gallons of water every 45 minutes enabling villages to access clean water 24 hours a day, meeting not only their drinking needs but also for domestic usage and livestock.

The solar powered system are environment-friendly and require low maintenance with no fuel cost. Human Appeal Team will also provide as part of this program:

  • Water supply lines that extend to the doorstep of the villager’s homes,

  • Solar powered lights throughout the village,

  • Purpose built toilet facilities,

  • Agricultural tools and climate smart agricultural seeds,

  • Farming training and support to grow local vegetables, establishing domestic kitchen gardens to meet nutritional & dietary needs, saving hundreds of lives from malnutrition each year,

  • A pair milking goats for any widowed women,

  • Livestock management training,

  • Vaccinations and deworming of all existing livestock,

  • Fodder for all animals.

Your generous donations will have a life-changing impact and bring water to thousands of people in urgent need!
