Story
I wanted to take a minute to explain why Doctors Without Borders (MSF) is so close to my heart, and why we have put together this event to help raise awareness and donations for them.
During the height of the refugee crisis in the winter of 2015, I experienced first-hand the incredible work that MSF undertakes to provide humanitarian support to people who need it most.
Whilst travelling through the Balkans I encountered the heart of the refugee crisis, and was instantly gripped by the stories of those seeking refuge. I decided to stay in the Balkans for 4 months to volunteer wherever and however needed as the harsh European winter set in.
During my time there I worked with several different organisations who brought aid to Serbia, FYROM, and Greece, but none held a candle to working with Doctors Without Borders (MSF), who constantly went above and beyond to help others whenever they could.
When I started volunteering I could never have imagined how much it would change my life and the impact the people I met during those months would have. MSF inspired me greatly, and it’s with real pride that we are working together to support their efforts where we can.
