Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Our Story began when I was preparing my 4 year old son, Oliver for starting school back in April 2017. We were talking about how every child is unique and that you should be kind, be nice and be yourself and to treat others as you would like to be treated. We talked about some children having more or less than others and also about children having disabilities or illness and how important it was to embrace everyone and not to exclude people just because they are different. From talking about illness we came onto the topic of wigs and went onto the Little Princess Trust website to find out more.
I was at the time growing my hair for my best friends wedding with the intention of cutting it short again after I had preformed my bridesmaid duties! So Oliver then said " mummy if you are growing your hair then I will as well and we can donate it to make a wig and help someone have hair" I instantly agreed to do this with him and for just short of 2 years we have both been growing our hair.
I had not set up a fundraising page until I knew our hair was long enough to cut and also to allow Oliver to make sure this was what he wanted and that he could change his mind if he wanted to, but he has been so determined, facing daily challenges of being called a girl and teased about his hair. Oliver has been amazing and always explained why he is growing his hair and never let any comments get him down.
Our hair has now grown long enough to cut, so on the 2nd March 2019 we will both be having our wonderful hairdresser Gaynor at Revival Hair and Beauty in Lydney do the honours and chop our ponytails off!!
We will then be donating our hair to the Little Princess Trust but alongside we are also fund raising for the Wallace and Gromit's Grand Appeal, so please if you can spare a few pence or pounds to donate to this amazing charity both myself and Oliver would be so grateful.
