I would like to raise money for Stroke Association because I feel that the charity is closer to me than most. My mum suffered a terrible stroke in 2009 (when I was 2) and all I said for the duration was “Is Mummy coming home today?” I became a runner in May 2016 with my mum as my inspiration. She ran the Virgin Money London Marathon last year and raised money for the Stroke Association. This inspired me to the same for the Milton Keynes Festival of Running. I know I’m only running a 5k and that’s a stroll in the park for some people, but I’d like to make something of it and feel good for it. The Stroke Association held a party at the end of the Marathon which I thoroughly enjoyed! When I raise money for the Stroke Association I know that I am helping lots of other people who are now in the same situation as my mum was. This one’s for you. 😉
