Thanks for visiting our fundraising page.
Rica and I are driving 22,000 miles overland to australia in an old VW Beetle. We believe in giving something back to the countries we visit and have chosen two projects along our route to support. One of those is a minefield in Kosovo which we have been fundraising for via No More Landmines. This is the other....
The Cope centre in Laos supports victims of landmines, unexploded ordnance and the severly dis-abled by providing prosthetic limbs and rehabilitation. The Cope centre was founded by UK charity Power International who continue to support their work. By donating via Power International UK tax payers can make their donation go further by claiming tax back. www.copelaos.org
Rica and I will be visiting the centre so will see first hand where your donation has gone. So how much do prosthetic limbs cost?
A mechanical prosthetic arm = $140 or £90 A leg = $50 or £30 A pair of crutches $7 or £5
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor us: Power International gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please sponsor us now!
