Following a dubious footballing career at University, in 2016 I did my level 1 FA coaching qualification. I help coach 2 teams at AFC Waverton & am a proud spectator on the sideline of a 3rd team & I am incredibly proud of my 3 footie players (despite the fact 2 are avid City supporters).

I work as an NHS Consultant Paediatrician & in May 2018 I was offered the opportunity of a life time...to be the first medical consultant at Claire House Hospice. Life has certainly got busier since then! Through this role I have met some amazing, inspiring people. I am so privileged to work with the patients & families who use Claire House; many of whom are living through every parents unthinkable worst nightmare. 

But they are only half the story - the dedicated hospice staff including clinical, housekeeping & administration, the fundraisers, the volunteers, the retail staff, the CEO & board have become valued colleagues & friends. I am learning something new every day & feel inspired & hopeful. 

Claire House support over 300 families with dying children across Merseyside, Cheshire and North Wales. But more children are coming to Claire House than ever before – an 84% increase in six years – and we can no longer cope with demand.

With every day that passes, another family struggles on without the help they so desperately need. Claire House provide a lifeline for families going through the toughest of times, allowing them to make memories that will last a lifetime.
