It was a pleasure to work in the licensed trade for 34 years and on retiring 2 years ago one of the first things I did was become a volunteer/visitor for the Ben. The charity offers support to anyone in need whatever age or background, provided they have worked or currently work in the licensed trade. Our normal fundraising activities have been severely curtailed due to Covid. That is why I have decided to challenge myself to walk the '6 Pentlands Peak Skyline Walk' and in doing so raise some desperately needed funds for the Ben. I know my ticker will be fine, but my dodgy knees may very well pose a challenge on this 7 hour walk/climb, but I will be ably assisted by a good friend Brian Souness.
