Nine years ago Patrick was diagnosed with the severest form of Spinal Muscular Atrophy - Type 1. His disability means that he cannot walk, or lift his arms to scratch his nose, or sit unsupported, or roll over in bed. But Patrick is amazing. He hasn't let all this get him down. He has defied his diagnosis. When he was 5 years old he was given a donation of a "snap dragon" wheelchair made by Dragon Mobility. It changed his life and he has used that chair everyday for the last 5 years. It has meant that he could attend his local school and make friends and follow his dreams. Now at 10 years old he is too big for that chair and needs a new one. Without it his quality of life will be severely reduced.  His parents (Paul and Helen) and his brothers (Michael and Thomas) have set about trying to raise the money needed and have already raised the first few thousand pounds, but time is not kind and we need to meet our target before he can no longer sit in his current chair. The new chair will be made to measure for Patrick and we need to allow time for the chair to be fitted and constructed. We have been impressed with what this equipment has let him achieve over the last 5 years and would like to see him continue to achieve his full potential.

It is the trustees' aim to provide enough money for each beneficiary to order the equipment they need.
