Thank you for visiting my page, I will be running the London Marathon in 2019 supporting Sarcoma UK, the only cancer charity in the UK focused on all types of sarcoma.
Sarcoma is a cancer of the bone and soft tissue. It is one of the hardest to diagnose, and difficult to treat. We can help change this. By donating to my page, you will fund vital research projects looking for better treatments. Your donation will also raise awareness of the symptoms of sarcoma to help patients get an early diagnosis, and ensure everyone has access to specialist advice.

I'll be running in memory of Dean Eastmond. I first became aware of Dean and his talented writing when he was about 15 yrs old when his mum mentioned how emotive his poem writing was. Deans youngest brother is a friend of my youngest son so I have been able to see and hear how Dean’s talents were progressing through school, college and university from writing pieces for the Financial Times to Setting up his own magazine aimed at the LGBT+ community.

What’s driven me to want to raise money for Sarcoma UK is from witnessing first hand how broken a family can become from losing a loved one, especially someone so young and talented. A family where parents, whilst dealing with their own grief remain strong and try to maintain a normality within the home for their other two son’s. The support that was received by the family from Sarcoma UK was invaluable and I’d hope to see that this charity can continue their great work.

At 19 years old journalist Dean Eastmond launched LGBT+
culture magazine HISKIND, and at 20 he was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of cancer. Using his platform, he has continuously shared his journey through the honesty of his writing, campaigned for LGBT+ rights and fought against inequalities LGBT+ people face in the health-care system. Dean’s passion for writing has sparked a lot of positive change for the LGBT+ community, such as fighting for fertility rights and campaigning for LGBT+ training for nurses and hospital staff. At 21, he received the horrific news that his cancer had spread, and he sadly lost his battle.
Despite everything, his voice has continued to raise awareness, provide comfort for many others struggling with the disease and he has triumphed fighting for the rights of the LGBT+ community.

Thank you for your support.
