Story
Hello everyone,
A few years ago we had a scare with my son when he was in the womb, they discovered a fluid build up in his brain. This resulted in multiple trips to the hospital, many scans and being told different outcomes. This was a very frightening time and when he was born they kept him in hospital for a while to monitor him closely but he looked fine he was the most beautiful baby boy I had ever seen. We had to continue with regular trips up the hospital until he had a MRI scan at 6 months old. It was the scariest time in my life I felt so helpless and sick with worry praying he didn't have to have brain surgery! We were in the waiting room most of the day with many other parents and their babies and young children and I remember how scared and worried they all looked. I often wonder how many were as lucky as us to get good news... how many got bad news and how many are still going through it.
Me and a group of good friends with experience climbing mountains have decided to set ourselves a challenge to raise money for the Southampton Children's hospital. We are going to attempt 3 of the UKs hardest and most technical mountain climbs in one weekend, this will consist of Snowdons horseshoe which is reaching the summit of Snowdon via Crib Goch the most dangerous route and come down via Y Lliwedd which we will do on Saturday 22nd October then Sunday 23rd we are going to climb Tryfan which is the UK's most technical mountain as there is no easy route it's a very vertical climb then on from there is Bristly Ridge which is a very exposed climb.
This will be extremely difficult mentally and physically and weather permitting but we hope to make a difference and raise as much as possible for those that need it the most the young who haven't lived their lives yet.
There will be links to follow and other members of the group will post on the page to keep everyone updated.
Thankyou for your time
