THE 100 NOTOUT THE WALK BRINGS A CLOSE TO PENN STREET CC's ACT OF REMEMBRANCE TO THOSE WHO DIED IN THE FIRST WORLD WAR.  IT STARTED IN 2014 WHEN 14 OF US CYCLED FROM PENN STREET TO YPRES TO COMMEMORATE FREDERICK WINGROVE , A VILLAGER AND SON OF ONE THE CLUBS FOUNDERS,  WHO DIED AT THE THIRD BATTLE OF YPRES AGED 21.  HIS NAME LIVES ON, ENGRAVED ON THE WAR MEMORIAL,  THE MENIN GATE (YPRES) AND THAT ALSO OF THE VILLAGE.   THE WALK IS A FITTING END TO OUR JOURNEY OF HOMAGE TO THE SACRIFICE OF MANY WHO SUFFERED THE HORRORS OF THAT TERRIBLE WAR, AND IN MANY WAYS ALSO TO THOSE WHO HAVE SUFFERED IN SUBSEQUENT WARS.  MAY THEIR SUFFERING NEVER BE FORGOTTEN
