We help people with ME/CFS to understand and survive their illness

Story

M.E., also known as Chronic Fatigue Syndrome affects around a quarter of a million people in the UK alone. The condition can be debilitating causing not just fatigue but also chronic pain. Its causes are still not fully understood and recovering from what can be a long-lasting illness is often based more on management than total cure.

For 6 days in February 2012, David and I will be climbing Mount Kilimanjaro at an altitude of 19,341ft and by doing so we hope to raise money for the ME association who fund research and awareness for this illness.

Ignore the target given, please donate as little or as much as you can to help ME sufferers and their families. Also, you’ll all get a laugh of me killing myself up some big hill at the arse-end of nowhere!!!

Click Donate and you can send donations by card or paypal. Alternatively, you can donate by TEXT. Send this code  WJWL61 then after a space, the amount you want to donate (WJWL61 £5)  to this phone number; 70070.

Update : 17/2/2012

We did it!!!

On Saturday 11th Feb, David and I climbed to the summit of Mt Kilimanjaro, the highest free standing mountain in the world. Tired and cold, knowing how much we were raising for the ME association kept us going. Thanks for all your encouragement and your continued support and donations.

The ME Association campaigns hard to get ME recognised as a severe neurological illness. Our helpline provides essential information and support to adults and children who have ME/CFS, and to their families and carers. We also fund biomedical research into the physical nature and causes of ME/CFS.
