Story
I have been a keen walker for several years. Lockdown #1 gave me the opportunity to increase my daily mileage and i set myself the goal of walking at least 10,000 steps/5 miles each day until Christmas.
Christmas came and my wife Judith who works as a Home Support Worker for Age UK/Banes mentioned that due to Covid-19 the Christmas Day Lunch Event which takes place for many of Bath's elderly residents was unable to go ahead.
Due to this Age UK/Banes pledged to deliver a Christmas Day Lunch to any of it's clients who would like one. To provide this service volunteers were needed to deliver the Lunches and so myself and three of my Daughters Emily, Katie and Rosie volunteered.
This opened up my eyes to the fantastic work of Age UK/Banes and how it's invaluable service is very much needed for the elderly Community - and 2020 has highlighted this even more.
This prompted me to think how I could help raise funds to support their work.
So I have decided to continue walking 5 miles a day/10,000 steps for 1 year. As of 10th January 2021 I have completed 302 days and walked 1784 miles in total.
Any donation would be hugely appreciated!
Many Thanks
Pete
