Sponsored Swim for Hue Help's Swimming for Safety Programme
Fundraising for Hue Help
Around 10 children aged 1-19 years old die from drowning every day in Vietnam – the equivalent of a plane crash every month. Drowning is the leading cause of death, even more children die from drowning than in road traffic accidents.
Many people in Vietnam have never had the chance to learn to swim.
The Swimming for Safety scheme provides free swimming lessons for the most disadvantaged children to help limit the human cost of extreme weather conditions.
It costs on average just £15 to teach a child to swim and save them from drowning.
