Story
This one is for you Josh. 14/08/96 - 04/04/18.
On Sunday 7th July I will be participating in the Challenge Roth triathlon in Germany. It is an Ironman distance course of 226.2km consisting of a 3.8km swim, 180km bike ride and a 42km run – (or if you like, a marathon).
I have decided to mark the event by raising money for a charity very close to our family’s hearts.
Papyrus are a charity dedicated to the prevention of suicide in young people. Suicide is the biggest killer of young people, men AND women, under the age of 35. Many thousands more young will people will attempt or contemplate suicide. Papyrus believe that many of these suicides are preventable.
Papyrus offer a confidential support service to young people struggling with thoughts of suicide, and to anyone that may be worried about a young person.
All your donations will go direct to supporting young people in need.
How your money will help:
£5 can help pay for one text or email conversation from a young person in need to HOPELINEUK (the Papyrus helpline)
£20 enables a young person in distress to speak to a HOPELINEUK advisor and discuss their thoughts of suicide and help them to stay safe
£65 can keep our helpline, text and email services running for over one hour.
£165 covers the cost of training someone ASIST, which is a two day course that prepares caregivers to provide suicide first aid interventions.
