Story
Thank you for visiting our fundraising page for The Precious Lives Appeal.
We arrived back at Lands End at 5.15 on Weds 2nd July-what an adventure-42 days in total-thanks to all our sponsors. The photo shows us at Duncansby Head near John O Groats. Wet and windy at times but a brilliant experience.
This appeal has been set up by Children's Hospice South West to raise the funds necessary to build a children's hospice in Cornwall. At present terminally ill children and their families have to travel to North Devon which in many cases means a round trip of over 200miles.
On Tuesday 20th May at 9a.m. I will set off from Lands End and cycle through central England and Scotland to John O Groats. There I will be joined by my wife Alison, who will be travelling up by train with her bike.
We will then cross over to the Orkneys and spend 3 days cycling around the islands before returning to John O Groats. The following day we will cycle along the north coast of Scotland before turning south to begin the long trek back to Lands End.
In all I will be attempting to cycle 2500 miles and Alison well over 1000miles.
Last year I cycled 1200miles and raised over £2000 for Choughs Cafe (special needs adults) and Leedstown School (to erect a cycle shelter). This year we would really like to beat that for The Precious Lives Appeal.
Alison has never cycled long distances before -she's cycling or swimming every day to get ready.
Please give generously and remember that if you are a British taxpayer 25% will be added to your donation at absolutely no cost to you.
