We fund research into type 1 diabetes to find a cure for type 1 diabetes

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Next year it will be 30 years since I was diagnosed as a Type 1 Diabetic.

I was 19. As a fit, young 2nd-year University student, it came as quite a shock.

One of the conversations I will never forget was with the Diabetic Nurse, whilst still in hospital who confidently predicted that there would be a cure found in my lifetime. 30 years later and research still continues. It is amazing to think that there is still no known cause or cure identified for something that affects so many people.

By running the London Marathon for the Charity JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation) I will be raising money for an organisation who in their own words:

'funds people researching prevention, treatment, causes and cure for type one diabetes'

I can think of no cause more appropriate to raise money for. Help me celebrate marking my 30 years, by raising money to make the predication made in that initial conversation I had come that little bit closer!

Thank you very much .. and now on to the formal bit!
