Inflammatory Neuropathies UK is dedicated to helping people affected by GBS, CIDP, MMN, and over 40 other Inflammatory Neuropathies. We provide information & support (personal grants, counselling, peer support), advocate & raise awareness, and help to fund & facilitate research.

Story

I have almost made a full recovery from Miller Fisher Syndrome, a rare variation of Gullain Barre Syndrome. Its a terrifying illness that required a couple of months in intensive care and many months recovering at home, struggling to regain the power to do normal every day things. At my worst I was on life support, paralysed from my chest up with severe weakness in my limbs. The sunglasses in the picture were nothing do with me being a cool dude! my pupils were fixed and dilated so maximum light was entering my eyes for months on end. Now it's time to give back and make something good out of a bad experience. I have chosen GAIN charity because they provide support and hope when you think there is none. They raise awareness to health care staff and the general public as this rare illness can be fatal if not recognised. Their funds are also used to research an illness that has few treatments and no cure. Its a terrible, terrible journey that has long lasting effects and I hope that I can make a contribution towards less suffering in the future for those affected.
