We fund long-term, sustainable research to find a cure for brain tumours

Story

Susanne and I are running the Great Scottish Run 10k together on the 30th September in Glasgow. Susi will be flying over from Germany especially for this race!

We want to take the opportunity to help fund research into brain tumors to remember my wonderful and beloved father-in-law Genesio who passed away on 24th September 2017 after 5.5 years suffering from Grade 3 astrocytoma ('anaplastic astrocytoma') which is fast-growing cancer and often referred to as 'malignant'. These tumours often recur following treatment in a more advanced form i.e. grade 4 astrocytoma.
He was bravely fighting for all these years but the tumour eventually took his life. We were lucky in a way to have him with us for so long - the doctors said, given the initial diagnosis, that this is remarkable. However his life, and the life of those close to him, has gone through great difficulty, getting harder, and harder to see him deteriorate.

Today, his type of brain tumour is a lost war. Some people who visited him in his last days said that "he eventually gave up". No, he did not gave up. It's just that there is nothing he could do. Hopefully new treatments or even a cure will change in the future of others and their loved ones to have that little bit more time together.

We want to use this race this by spreading awareness and help funding more research into astrocytomas together with Brain Tumour Research!

Thank you for taking the time to visit and read our JustGiving page.

Jetzt folge ich also Beas Beispiel.

Susi
