The Plodding Pals are fundraising for Abortion Support Network by travelling 520km in October! 

Across Europe, many countries abortion laws force people to travel to other countries for care they should be able to access in their home country. 

Every year ASN helps hundreds of people travel to access abortions, mainly from the Republic of Ireland, Northern Ireland, Malta, Gibraltar and Poland. These are journeys people have to make because of criminalisation of abortion and poor service provision where they live, often facing distances of hundreds of miles by land, air and sea to access care.  

We’re taking on ASN’s Go The Distance challenge to raise money for ASN, who supports people who need to travel for abortions. We'll be walking, cycling and running every week in October and by the end of the month we’ll have collectively covered 520km - the return distance from Dublin to Liverpool, a distance some of ASN’s clients are forced to travel.
