Up until recently Parkinson's Disease was not even a distant thought. Like many other conditions it was something I associated with age and was not a condition I really knew much about, other than the distinctive tremor.

Then just before Christmas I was diagnosed with Parkinson's and my research started into how it affects both the body and mind.
The biggest shock is that no- one really knows what causes the neurotransmitters in the brain to die and every person is affected differently. The first thing the neurologist told me was that that there is no cure, it is a case of managing the effects. Neither is a death sentence in itself, but depending on how the individual body reacts to the lack of dopermine determines the quality of life of both the sufferer and their loved ones.

So I decided that I would combine my love of writing rhyming verse with raising money to help find a cure and aid others suffering from Parkinson's. Monies go directly via this site to Parkinsons UK.

For a £5 donation - a rhyming poem of 12 -16 lines.

For a £10.00 donation - a rhyming poem of 20-30 lines.

Here are the options you can choose from:-

1. A poem for a special occasion e.g birthday, anniversary. ( you email me send details of who it is for, age/occasion and particular hobbies/likes etc).

2. A poem of a pet (send url of image and details of traits/funny things they do, name, and anything else that is specific to your pet).

3.Personification of your pet  - I will write a poem based on what you tell me about your pet but from your pet's point of view. (Send url of image or description and tell me about your relationship with your pet e.g traits funny occurences etc.).
