Student's for Global Health Edinburgh's Polar Bear Plunge · 25 January 2020

Everyone deserves to feel clean, yet millions of people in the UK today are going without the hygiene basics - such as razors, toothpaste or laundry detergent- that so many of us take for granted. With your support, we will help those pulled into hygiene poverty in communities across the UK.

Story

Students for Global Health Edinburgh, working alongside The Hygiene Bank Edinburgh and local outdoor swimming enthusiasts the Chilly Dippers, will be taking an icy plunge into the sea down at Edinburgh's Portobello Beach in order to raise funds, awareness and supplies for The Hygiene Bank Edinburgh.

If you wish to get involved with this fundraising event; please feel free to share this link. If you are eager to take the plunge yourself, or even just to spectate, you are all the more welcome to join us down there on the 25th at 11am. Feel free to invite people the more the merrier.

It may not be as balmy as the Bahamas, but it is all for a good cause!

Galvanised by the belief that being clean is not a luxury or a privilege, The Hygiene Bank is a registered, people powered, grassroots charity grounded in community. We collect and re-distribute donated toiletries, hygiene, beauty and personal care items to UK charities, voluntary organisations and schools. These in turn are then given for free to their beneficiaries. Our passion stems from a sense of injustice: it's not right that anyone should face hygiene poverty in modern Britain.
