The topic of Mental Health has always been very close to my heart, from my own struggles (and academic studies) to watching friends and family battle mental illness. I try to be an advocate and ally in my day-to-day life and now I am so excited to be able to combine advocacy and fundraising for a leading charity in the field with one of my favourite hobbies: Crafting.

On December 6th my sister, Dana, and I will be hosting a "Crafternoon" in conjunction with LSI Portsmouth. Attendees will be able to make holiday-themed decorations and personlised items, take part in a raffle, and enjoy homemade cakes and hot drinks. The funds raised will enable Mind to continue its excellent work providing mental health support services to people throughout the UK.

Whether you have a diagnosed mental illness or not, taking care of your mental health should be a priority for everyone. Unfortunately, despite the increase in awareness over the last couple of decades, not everyone has access to the services and support they need. Mind are working to offer this much needed support in whatever form people might need, from a listening ear on the phone to counselling and support groups, and we are proud to put on this event in support of them.
