Good news! we have decided to crack on with the PPP this year. 
The only difference is that we will be switching it to a virtual event,
running throughout the week of July 1-12^th.  This means
that, whatever the COVID Alert level in July, you will be able to Pedal 20km, Pace 5km and…wait for it….  Pick Your Own 3^rd leg for 15
fun-packed minutes.  We are not sure how many of you will have access to a 2km Paddle course so thought a more general category (only criterion: 15 minutes of physical effort) would be more appropriate and entirely in keeping with the unique nature of our triathlon with a difference.

Everything has changed over the last 2 months and we have all had to adapt to new circumstances.  What has not changed is that there are people living with cancer in Hampshire and throughout the country.  The PPP has always been about raising much needed funds for Macmillan Cancer Support and we will continue to do everything we can to achieve that goal.  They urgently need your help - with so many fundraising events cancelled and postponed Macmillan are facing up to a staggering 50% drop in income in 2020.  People living with cancer need Macmillan.  Macmillan need us.  We can’t let them down.

If you have already entered for this year (thank you!), you will receive an email in June with details on how to complete your virtual PPP.  In brief summary, we will send you a link to upload each leg from Strava to us so we can compile a set of results by the end of that week in July (don’t worry if you don’t have Strava, we will accept manual entries).  As it is not quite the same as the live experience, if you have already entered and paid, we are happy to carry your 2020 entry over to 2021.  If you are happy to donate this year’s entry to Macmillan
Cancer Support and start afresh next year then we are delighted with that too.

If you haven’t entered yet and would like to, we will send out details of how to enter in June via email, social media and the website www.winchesterppp.co.uk. Entry is free and we hope that you will get involved.  As geography is no barrier, you can get as many friends, family and colleagues involved as you want, anywhere in the world.  For the first time in many years the organising committee have no excuse for not competing so we will all be on the virtual start line with you.  Sharing you experience on our Facebook page, Twitter and Instagram will help build our PPP community in the absence of getting together on Palmer’s Field.
