I am running the Wilmslow Half Marathon for Leighton Hospital Prostate Cancer Support Group because they support men like me throughout Cheshire.

Leighton Hospital Prostate Cancer Support Group

We Raise awareness of Prostate Cancer to Help with early detection

Charity Registration No. 1184286

Story

In the UK, 1 man dies of Prostate Cancer every 45 minutes.

Yet there is no reliable national screening program available.

Leighton Hospital Prostate Cancer Support Group is a patient-led charity in Cheshire, that actively supports local men and their families by:
  • Raising awareness of this common cancer in men.
  • Offering a PSA blood testing service to men at local clubs and sporting venues. This could help to inform of any early indication of prostate health issues that can then be discussed with GPs.
  • Providing ongoing support to men diagnosed with prostate cancer and their families.

I  personally have received invaluable and timely support from members of this charity during my own diagnosis and treatment since 2010. I was lucky that my cancer was identified early enough to receive timely treatment.

Sadly around  12,000 men in the UK will not be so lucky to tell their stories at this time next year.

Please donate what you can to support me to raise funds for this invaluable group.
