Story
Project Play works with displaced children in northern France. We believe in the power of play as a tool to support the wellbeing and development of children. We work with children living in informal refugee camps and temporary accommodation centres, providing them with safe spaces to play, learn and be themselves.
Having taken the difficult decision to suspend services during the peak of Covid-19 in France, we are now once again running sessions five days a week. Each week, we visit an informal camp, drop-in centre and safe house and are planning to expand our service over Autumn to reach children living in temporary accommodation centres. At every site, we provide a combination of games, sports, crafts and educational activities to support children of all ages to learn and develop.
We need your help now more than ever to continue supporting these children through play. Our monthly running costs are £2600, which includes the cost of fuel for our vehicle, accommodation for our volunteers, vital resources for our sessions and rent of our warehouse space. Just £24 would cover all our fuel and resource costs for a day's session!
All proceeds to this page will go directly to covering our vital running costs.
