Story

*** I DID IT - I successfully made the Tandem Skydive on Friday 9th October, the wind conditions were perfect (unlike the scheduled Wednesday 30th September). A full video of the jump is available now to view - Enjoy :) ***

I have decided that it is the right time to jump out of a moving plane in the beautiful sky's above my home town of sunny Maidstone in Kent.

Why? Because as of the 23rd of September it will be exactly a year since my diagnosis of Hodgkins Lymphoma was confirmed at Darenth Valley Hospital.

What did I do that day? Well.... I went to Bournemouth and did the zip wire on the beach! Duh - what else!

So now it's time to step it up a gear and raise some real money for the charity that was my go to guide for all things related to this type of blood cancer and of course get much higher up in the clouds.

I will be in the sky at 10am on Wednesday 30th September at Headcorn Aerodrome in Maidstone, Kent. Nr Leeds Castle - watch this space for updates!

September also happens to be Hodgkin's Lymphoma Awareness month and Lymphatic Cancer Awareness week fall's on the 14th and 20th September - more information can be found on the Lymphoma Association website.

My story in brief:

The picture above was taken on Wednesday 12th November 2014 - My 1st session in 6 cycles of ABVD Chemotherapy (12 lots each fortnight for over six months).

Why the need for chemo? Well I discovered a swollen gland near my left collar bone around early Summer of last year.

The gland didn't go down, as it should, and months later at the end of September after yo-yoing to and from the GP and Hospital following a fine needle biopsy it was confirmed that I had Hodgkins Lymphoma Stage 4B. A "curable" cancer which effects the lymph nodes.

Cancer?! But you're healthy no?!

I know right! I too was pretty surprised! Hodgkins Lymphoma is the most popular cancer among the under 30's - so I'm taking that as a compliment!

It's was pretty hardcore 6 months and chemo is a lifesaving b*tch!

Make up and faux hair are a magical thing of wonder. If you had no idea that I was sick - great! It worked!
I figured that I was not going to be defined by the big C, it is just something I am going through, and not who I am.

I had my final dose of chemo on Wednesday 15th April this year and I was given the best news of complete remission in June!

On my latest consultants appointment last month I was informed that there is no further need for me to have any more PET/CT scans or blood tests! Woooo Hoooo!

I am now back in good health and cannot believe what the last year has consisted of! It's pretty blooming mental! I feel that now is a better time as any to get up in the sky's and raise some money for a charity that provided me with all the information that I needed.

I would like to thank you for taking the time to visit my page here on just giving and appreciate all that you can donate, be it big or small, every penny counts! :)
