I was fortunate enough to gain a ballot entry to this year's London Marathon and on 23rd April, I will be aiming to run the full distance to raise money for a local charity, Centre 33.
Those of you who know me well will know that, despite having
inspiring parents who have run many Marathons between them over the years, running does not come naturally to me. In fact, I only took running up seriously about six months ago. Recently I have endured the rain and wind, and many tired evenings after work, to get my trainers on and get out for a training run. I am grateful to my husband who has endured more than his fair share of dirty dishes, my Mum who has spent hours babysitting, my Dad who has helped me get through the gruelling training, and of course, my patient kids who have asked over and over again, "mummy, running again?!"
As I work for a local Child and Adolescent Mental Health Team, I recognise the need for local charities that support young people with mental health needs. Resources in the Health Sector are more limited than ever and such charities support our young people in an invaluable way. I would very much like to raise money for a local cause and request you to help me as I try and raise money for Centre 33.
I'm also raising money for my local primary school to help fund for reading book sets for Preschool upto Year 6.

Please help me to support tomorrow's future. Please dig deep as I challenge my body and mind to 26.2 miles of running to support these excellent local causes!!
