Story
Each year the team here at Qdos hosts an endurance challenge in the aid of raising money for excellent causes. This year someone has had the bright idea of rowing the length of the UK (Land's End to John O'Groats) on rowing machines (approx 874 miles). After a mix of emotions; excitement, fear, opportunity or just maybe the word 'why??!' we are up for it.
We are holding this event at the Leicester Race Course where a Family Fun Day is being held on 13th August. So whether you wish to either partake, donate, attend the Family Fun Day or do all three it should be great day for all. Make sure it is in your diary?
Many people choose to cycle from Land's End to John O'Groats, which generally takes 2 weeks to complete and as for the really fit...
well the record is 9 days! Not only are we using rowing machines but we have decided to complete the distance in 24 hours. Our team is getting stronger; last year, we cycled (on spin bikes) the length of the Amazon River in 24 hours. That is a distance of 4,000+ miles! The year before we attempted to 'step to space' on a stepper machine!!
Suffice to say that the cause needs to be a good one to encourage volunteers to join in. Hope against Cancer is a fantastic charity, researching, supporting and bringing hope to those unfortunate enough to have been touched by the terror of cancer.
We raised an incredible £5,000 for charity last year and this year we hope to double that amount to get to £10,000.
If you'd like to talk to one of the Qdos team about the event and how you can get involved, feel free to get in touch with Toni on 07900 211496 or email her on trobinson@qdosconsulting.com
Thank you for reading and supporting such an incredible challenge.
