I had an emergency colostomy in March 2020 due to a ruptured bowel which meant that I couldn't run the LLHM. However COVID then came and it was cancelled anyway.

I now have a stoma which may or may not be reversed. I don't know yet. Living with a stoma isn't terrible and if it needs to be permanent then that's the way it is. I'm just thankful that I'm here as I was quite poorly. There are many people with serious bowel disorders which I have only learnt about since having my stoma. And so I have chosen to run for Bowel Research UK this time. I'm not as fit as I was pre stoma and I worry about having to change my bag on the way round. But that's all part of it. And an added challenge.
