We provide Hospice Care to the sick and the elderly in Bethlehem

Story

When the terminally ill and elderly people of Bethlehem reach the end of their lives, they have nowhere to turn. There’s no NHS to look after them, no social care system to act as a safety net. Those without family to take care of them in their last days, will die alone and in pain.

I believe that everyone deserves dignity, care and help to manage pain at the end of their life. That’s why I’m supporting BCHT in their mission to build Bethlehem’s first ever hospice.

Due to Covid-19, my challenge is going to be a bit different than I’d planned. On 22nd August, I’ll be embarking on a solo climb and trek up Yorkshire’s Three Peaks.

I’ve done it once before so I know roughly what to expect, but last time I was with a group and not walking against the clock.

This time, I’ll be navigating, walking and climbing on my own and I aim to complete the challenge in 12 hours or less. It’s going to be tough, but I’m looking forward to the challenge.

Having lived and worked in the Middle East, I’ve seen how people suffer there due to conflict, upheaval and the lack of a social safety net. Building Bethlehem’s first ever hospice is a real and tangible target. It will provide genuine help for thousands of sick and elderly people. It’s a great cause and I hope I can do it justice!

I know this is a difficult time for many. Please help me by donating whatever you can afford.
