Story

Runnin’, Ridin’ n Rowin’ is a Top Gear style challenge where 3 individuals will be racing each other along the Rochdale Canal from the birth place of the Coop, Rochdale, to its new home in Angel Square on Wednesday 23rd May to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.

The contestants are:

Elliot Mathieu Venables: Kayaking 5 miles. 11 years kayaking experience, including in The Lake District, Scotland and the French Alps

Stephen Lowe: Running 12 miles. Member of Middleton Harriers Running Club, proud winner of the Harriers Endeavour Award for trying really hard in the cross country season

Steve Mawby: Cycling 25 miles. Owns a mountain bike. Is very unfit.

If all goes to plan we will be arriving for a photo finish at Angel Square at midday so please be there to support us, and please give generously to help us reach our target.

Fundraising is hugely important to Macmillan. Without people doing events, running marathons, climbing mountains, and donating in all the other ways that you can, Macmillan wouldn’t exist.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs.
