I see first hand the amazing care and support that the hospice provide palliative patients across South Birmingham. They need £8 million a year to keep providing this essential service so are heavily reliant on charitable donations.I feel very passionate that hospice care should be available for all who need it so I want to raise awareness and funds for the work they do.
I bought my first road bike and took up cycling 4years ago to complete a charity cycle challenge (London to Paris) for the hospice. I have fallen in love with cycling and completed the 100mile Birmingham velo in September '2017; fuelled by my success (and adrenaline), I signed up to Ride across Britain in September 2018. This is an immense challenge - 969 miles over 9 days from Lands End to John O groats. With the cold and the ice, my bike is gathering dust in the garage and I'm now feeling extremely apprehensive! I have a long summer of training ahead of me and would be grateful for any support you are able to give; whether that is a few pence, pounds or just words of encouragement along the way.
I am funding the event myself, so every penny I raise in sponsorship will go to the Hospice.
