I am running the Great West Run in October in order to help support local families with disabled children through Honeylands Childrens Charity. Our son Felix, as many of you already know, has a very rare gene mutation which we know very little about. He is two and a half and at present cannot walk or crawl, speak or understand very much. We spend many hours every day doing physiotherapy with him and looking after him and trying to help him be the best he can be, whatever that may mean for him. 

A lot of his therapies- physio, occupational therapy, speech and language therapy- are run through an amazing place, Honeylands Childrens Centre, which helps a lot of children like Felix and families in similar situations. Felix also goes to a weekly group session with some other children where fantastic nursery nurses help his development. Going to Honeylands is so wonderful for us because it is a place where Felix fits in and it provides some calm and normality in the strange world we have been thrown into with him. 

A lot of resources are needed to keep somewhere like Honeylands running smoothly and enable them provide the help to disabled children, in the form of therapy, equipment and suitable space, that they do at present. Your donation will be very much appreciated and will help motivated this tired and slightly broken mother of 4 to get training in order to run a painfully hilly 13 miles. Thank you!!!
