Story
as of Monday, i'll be doing 10,000 steps every day, for 1 month, in order to raise money for Nith Inshore Rescue.. these guys don't get enough credit for everything they do, & they do it all for FREE! they risk their lives to save others, taking part in training for various different things in their own time, and they rely on funding for things, from dry suits, to the servicing of the boats, fuel etc. ianyone willing to join in with me raising money, just get in contact with me & i'll add you to the page ☺️ i'll be counting my steps using my fitness watch, & i will also post on here, at the end of every day, a photo of how many steps i have done💪🏻
All lifeboats in the UK are run by volunteers, and ours is no different. We have no paid staff, and we all give our own time to help others who need us. Many of our crew have busy day jobs, but when the pager goes off, they are at the boathouse within minutes and ready to respond to any emergency in or near water.Nith Inshore Rescue is an independent lifeboat, which means we are not linked to the RNLI and have to raise all our own funds in order to run. This amounts to around £20,000 per year (not including unforeseen expenses).
