We provide free end of life nursing at home to enable people to be cared for at home

Story

Thank you for visiting our JustGiving page, in memory of Shelagh Reynolds, who died in April 2018. We are raising funds for Lawrence Home Nursing Team, whose care enabled Shelagh to spend her last weeks and days at home, just as she wished.

This page has been created by Shelagh’s four sisters, Kathryn, Fiona, Ailsa and Ali. Together with Shelagh’s husband Chris, and her mother Margaret, we took part in Cirencester’s 5km ParkRun on Saturday 8 December (the day before Margaret’s 85th birthday!).

Please give generously in memory of our beloved sister, who lived her life with enormous zest, considerable flair and a refreshing appreciation for life’s absurdities.

The other members of #TeamShelagh were:

  • Shelagh's brothers-in-law - Stephen Downes (Ali's trainer in chief), Bob Merrill and Philip John, and Ailsa’s partner Patrice Brun who accompanied Margaret.
  • Her nieces and nephews, in many cases with their partners - Rose and Kit Franklin; Olivia Merrill; Hannah Clarke and Tom Freer; John and Kirsty Howarth; Harriet John and Leo Burroughes; Alex John and Amelia Wallis, who recently lost a much-loved aunt herself; William (12) and Oliver (10) Downes; Sarah Clarke, who earlier this year had major surgery on one leg, who walked with her grandmother and then ran at the end! Our support team was Alice Merrill and her partner Alex, and Mark Howarth. We missed Claire Howarth and Summer who were unable to be there.
  • Great niece Lily Howarth (7) and the youngest member of Shelagh's family, great nephew Harry Howarth (17 months), in a buggy! Great nephew Hugo (age 4) joined us later in the day.

With your help, Lawrence Home Nursing team can give others the chance to choose where to spend their last days  - it is a precious gift.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. JustGiving will never sell your contacts or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to Lawrence Home Nursing. Please add gift aid if eligible as it makes a big difference to the total funds raised.
